What has been your best promotion or event? We run a 3-for-$10 sale on new comics each month that does very well. Our best event was FCBD with Georges Jeanty and Tini Howard.
What steps have you taken to expand your customer base or to reach out to individuals unfamiliar with your store or comics in general? We’ve really made an effort to design our store with the “Comics Are For Everybody” movement in mind. We are clean, bright, open, and laid out to be welcoming and easily navigated. Our staff is highly trained in sales and most importantly customer service. We listen and help people find the right books for their tastes.
What are your plans for the near future? We’re planning a book club so our community can discuss the books they’re reading. Social mixers, charity events, and other community based initiatives are all part of our plans going forward.
