Self-Saving Princesses

Women who play video games can struggle to find their place in the broader gaming community, so Alterative Comics, Hazel Newlevant, and 40 female cartoonists have come together to create Chainmail Bikini: The Anthology of Women Gamers (FEB161059).

A love letter from women to video games, as well as table-top role-playing, collectible card games and more, this anthology explores the real life impact of how games connect with us and teach us about ourselves.

Originally published through a very successful Kickstarter campaign, Chainmail Bikini shows that while women may not be the target audience for gaming, they are a dynamic part of it.

Get Ready to Raid

Taking place in the same universe as the popular puzzle games Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Dark Horse Comics is taking the tomb raiding heroine on another adventure in Lara Croft and the Frozen Omen (FEB160021).

It’s Lara Croft and Carter Bell versus a crazy group of cultist bent on worldwide cataclysmic devastation as ancient ivory artifacts hold the key to the world’s salvation and destruction. These once time rivals must now work together and recover the ivory artifacts before the cultists in a race against time.

Full of high-spirited escapades and incredible action, Lara leads the way with her duel pistols and saves the world in the process.
