Scott Snyder Is Not Done With Batman

Article ImageWhat do you do when you’re not ready for retirement?

That is a question best answered when you see how Scott Snyder is handling his departure from writing Batman for the New 52 universe. Yes, it was a good run. Yes, he knocked it out of the park. No, he isn’t done telling stories yet for the Dark Knight.

The universe is changing, however. As we’ve all been learning, DC Rebirth is here, and it’s a new day for all characters and their corresponding comic book titles. The New 52 Batman is leaving us, and with it goes Scott Snyder’s job for writing the flagship Batman book.

So what best to do when you can’t go through the wall?

Go around it.

Snyder shows that while he may be done writing the regular Batman title for the New 52, he isn’t done with Bruce Wayne’s alter ego as the arrival of All-Star Batman #1 (JUN160203) debuts in the June PREVIEWS catalog, and with the book comes a bevy of talented artists all-too-ready to get their hands on helping to craft tales about the world’s greatest detective. Names that you’ll recognize include John Romita Jr., Danny Miki, and Declan Shalvey.

And the first fire they have to put out? Two-Face!

All-Star Batman #1 (JUN160203) is in comic shops August 10.
