Women First In Marguerite Bennett's DC Comics Bombshells
Jul 29, 2016
If something works well, there's no reason not to do it again. Or try to improve upon it.
For those who saw the movie Watchmen, an alternate America during the Cold War was unveiled, in which Richard Nixon had his finger on the nuclear launch codes. It allowed us to contemplate a big "what if" should the American President got trigger happy. It also demonstrated how the fun factor is limitless — and all the more relevant — when the song remains the same, but it's blasted through a new music player.
Writer Marguerite Bennett taps into this formula for her fiddling with females in the new DC book, DC Comics Bombshells.
"It's all the iconic DC heroines in this alternate history World War II," she explained on the floor of the San Diego Comic Con. "We get to jump around and do all different genres, and create something that feels real!"
