Are you glued to your computer screen reading webcomics? Looking for an excuse to get out of the house? Have no fear, your favorite webcomics may already be at your local comic shop! Webcomics are more popular than ever, and comic publishers are taking notice. As an introduction to new creators and fun characters, they are bringing fans to the medium and invading comic book stores. From fantasy to comedy with detours through the strange and surreal, these digital stories are unique looks at what small press creators are making. 

There’s a bit of everything online and we’ve endeavored to bring you the best of what’s available. From Kickstarter projects, web series, and more, webcomics are a unique medium where the only uniting factor is being on the Internet. We’ve listed a few below, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. There really is something for everyone in the wide world of webcomics.

American Barbarian The Complete Series

Tom Scioli has made a name for himself with his Jack Kirby-like art style and unmistakable writing, both on full display in his Saturday Morning epic American Barbarian. IDW Publishing is collecting the long running web series in American Barbarian The Complete Series (JAN170566), a 250-page plus opus of Scioli level insanity. Tales From the Con

Comic conventions are strange places full of strange people and no one seems to know that better than Brad Guigar, Chris Giarrusso, and Scoot McMahon. This trio of creators are having their 4 year-long webcomic project reprinted by Image Comics in The Complete Tales From the Con (JAN170796). Looking at conventions from all sides, Tales From the Con doesn’t hold back or pull punches as they lampoon fans, creators, pros, and con-goers as they collide on the on the dealer’s room floor. Die Kitty Die

Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz’s hit Kickstarter is now collected in softcover from Chapterhouse Comics. Featuring a cover by the late art icon Darwyn Cooke, Die Kitty Die (JAN171567is a fun look at how far a greedy and publicity starved publisher will do to increase sales. The lead character, Kitty Ravencraft, is a magical young witch who happens to be the star of a once popular comic book. With sales going down the tube, her publisher decides it’s time for a big event – killing Kitty in her comic, and in real life! Don’t worry, it’s harder to kill a witch than it seems, but Kitty’s in for a wild ride as she tries to stay alive and rekindle interest in her comic.

Smosh

The Kings of YouTube Comedy have made their mark on comics and now all of their wild adventures are collected in the Smosh TP (JAN171684). This Dynamite Entertainment series looks like it leapt right out of the YouTube player, and features fan-favorite characters like the Super Virgin Squad, That Damn Neighbor, and Box Man. With over 22 million subscribers, fans of Smosh’s series will love watching their favorite characters get translated for comics. See more of Smosh’s antics on their website

Supermansion

The stop motion animation hit Supermansion is making its way to comic book shops with a little help from Titan Comics. Supermansion #1 (JAN171987kicks off a four-issue mini-series featuring the less than super heroes led by Titanium Rex – voiced in the animated series by the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Bryan Cranston. The comic series follows the League as they defeat the evil Psy-Clone, but before rushing off to another battle they realize that his cloning machine can help them save more citizens as they make duplicates of themselves to battle in their stead.  Watch the first season of Supermansion online at crackle.com.
