Tricks, Tattoos, & Trouble In Peepland #1

If you were Roxy Bell in 1986, you lived in Times Square, worked it until your feet were raw, and got caught up in a murder. It's just one of many stories, but this one's in the hard boiled crime comic, Peepland!

Titan Comics has given us a new series by crime writers Christa Faust and Gary Phillips that captures all the grime, stink, and listlessness of the 80s Time Square culture, sewn up in a semi-autobiographical neo-noir tale that screams with savagery and punk attitude.

Peepbooth worker Roxy Bell has a chance encounter with a pornographer, and that moment is enough to make her look around every corner, and hinge on every whispered conversation. The man she met has now been brutally murdered. The only friend she can turn to, Nick Zero, doesn't have a lot to go on. In fact, Nick might be more of a liability than a leg-up, because soon the two find themselves on the run from criminals, cops, and people with a lot of money who don't want to lose it because of a sex scandal.

Some things are just better left swept under the carpet. Much to Roxy's rotten luck!

Offering art by Andrea Camerini, and a variety of grim, gritty, and sleazy covers in sync with the sweat of this series, you can find Peepland #1 (AUG161947) from Titan Comics in the Comics and Graphic Novels section of the August PREVIEWS catalog!

It's Taxi Driver meets Goodfellas!
