What has been your best promotion or event? Batman Day, Halloween costume contest
What recent changes have you made in the store? I have gone from tables to bins and added more real estate to display comics and other retail items.
What steps have you taken to expand your customer base or to reach out to individuals unfamiliar with your store or comics in general? I have begun to go to other locations such as bookstores and videogame stores and gotten to know the owners and customers in an effort to work together with certain events. One example of this will be our October MKX game tournament held in the shop.
What are your plans for the near future? I have begun the expansion of my shop in an attempt to free up more retail space as well as make my card gaming tournaments more comfortable for customers.
How did you choose your store name? I chose the name through an inside joke between me and my girlfriend (women biting the heads off men) and also the mantis is featured in one of my favorite kung fu movies of all time (“The Deadly Mantis”).
