Top 25 Toys: January 2012

AMC's top-rated series The Walking Dead, based on Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's best-selling comic from Image Comics, served as the basis for McFarlane Toys' The Walking Dead TV Series 1 Action Figures, the best-selling Toy product to comics specialty retailers in January.

Bowen Designs had two items in January's top ten best-sellers — the Thor Modern Museum Statue at #2 and the Polaris Statue at #3.

Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles also had two products in January's top ten — the Marvel Select: Colossus Action Figure at #4 and the Star Trek: The Next Generation: USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D Ship at #7.

Also with two items in the top ten in January was Square-Enix with two Street Fighter IV Play Arts ~Kai~ figures, Ryu at #6 and Chun-Li at #9.

Other manufacturers with products in the top ten for January include Dynamic Forces, Kenner, and NECA.

Data for Diamond’s sales charts — which include the monthly market shares and all top product charts — are compiled by Diamond Comic Distributors from a universe of over 3,500 accounts, comprised of comic book specialty shops and other merchant stores and buyers. The shops are primarily located in North America, with a percentage of sales also to international stores and buyers located throughout the world. The account base includes not only brick-and-mortar comic book specialty shops, but also Internet stores, chain stores, and other specialty stores.

Unit and dollars sales are calculated based upon orders invoiced and shipped to Diamond accounts during any given month, minus any copies that are distributed free of cost.
