This October, IDW Publishing is throwing a big comic bash for an iconic anthology that just reached a milestone anniversary. The Walt Disney Comics & Stories 75th Anniversary Special (AUG150410) will bring together Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and the rest of the gang in an extra-long issue jam-packed with some of the top creators from the series' past and present. With the perfect blend of classic and contemporary tales, every reader should find a story that's perfect for them—from diehard Disney fans to newcomers meeting these beloved characters for the first time (and what an amazing introduction at that!).
Viz Media wants to take readers through on a journey through the Unova region (with a few high-profile guests in tow) with Pokémon Pocket Comics: Legendary Pokemon (AUG151817). This self-contained graphic novel will give trainers big laughs in a tiny package as our Poké-protagonists must search high and low for the Legendary Joke. In addition to a Wailord-sized helping of four-panel gag comics, Pocket Comics is also stuffed with a number of extra goodies (such as vital Pokémon stats, puzzles, and quizzes) to keep you entertained along your journey. If you're a veteran champion or even just stepping into the tall grass for the first time, then Pocket Comics should prove to be quite the catch!

If you've spent any amount of time on the internet over the past few years, then you may already be familiar with the leading lady of Dynamite's latest comic series. She's a rising starlet who's appeared on tv, starred in her own movie, helmed multiple ad campaigns, "written" two best-selling novels, and has had her face plastered on just about every website you can think of. She also happens to be a tiny cat with a very unhappy expression. After capturing hearts the world over and conquering various forms of media, Grumpy Cat (AUG151312) has set her sights on the world of comics! Joined by her infinitely more cheerful brother, Pokey, this new comic series should deliver plenty of ridiculous adventures and give Grumpy fans a lot to frown—er—smile about!
Prefer a kitten that's a little more sweet than sour (but also oh so adorable)? Then look no further than the star of Chi's Sweet Home Graphic Novel Volume 12 (AUG151798) from Vertical Comics! Chi is a young kitten who gets lost while out on a walk with her mom and siblings. Luckily, she's soon found by a young boy named Yohei and welcomed into the Yamada household as the newest member of the family. Instead of being big and scary, the world (or, at least, the Yamada's home and the yard around it) becomes an exciting place to explore, and every day brings a new adventure for Chi! Volume 12 marks the final volume in the series, but new readers should have no problem jumping right in, as each volume is largely self-contained. Spend a day with Chi and you'll see why her cute, gentle slice-of-life stories have won over fans (even dog-lovers) the world over!

It's time to sweep the clouds away with the latest Sesame Street comic from Ape Entertainment! Another Sunny Day (AUG151048) gathers the gang for another issue jam-packed with laughter, learning, and, maybe, a cookie or two. When a picnic basket goes missing, it's up to Cookie Monster and the rest of the crew to go on the hunt for the missing treats. In addition to this adventure, fans can also look forward to more fun to be had in the neighborhood, as this issue will kick off a new series of Sesame Street comics!
Just in time for Halloween, BOOM! Studios will give Adventure Time fans a new comic to sink their teeth into with the Adventure Time 2015 Spooktacular (AUG151207) special! This standalone story will delve into Marceline's past and explore what the red-sucking rocker was like before she became Ooo's resident Vampire Queen (or even got her fangs)! Adventure Time aficionados who have been eager to learn more about Marceline's "origin" story will not be disappointed, and fans of the show will want to take note, as storyboard artist Hanna K. is handling both writing and illustration duties for this mathematical one-shot!
