Get Ready for SPX with 2009 Ignatz Award Nominees

The Small Press Expo (SPX) has announced the nominations for the 13th Annual Ignatz Awards, spotlighting a wide range of comics creators, titles and publishers. According to a press release from SPX, the Ignatz Award “is a festival prize awarded at SPX to recognize outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning. A panel of five cartoonists develops the ballot, which is then voted on by SPX attendees.”

The awards will be presented on Saturday, September 26, during the Ignatz Awards Ceremony at this year's SPX at the North Bethesda Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Bethesda, MD. This year’s jury consisted of Lilli Carre, Vanessa Davis, Robert Kirby, Scott Mills and Laura Park.
